I wrote the lyrics on my birthday in 1985. That seems like another lifetime ago, but in some ways it seems like just yesterday. John Schwab wrote the melody a few years later and recorded the song for his 1990 solo album, "Crack of Dawn."

You wander downtown to pass another day
